Learn About 1and1 Promos Now
Includes more features for
developers.
1&1 Internet Inc., one of the
world’s largest web hosts, is
improving its Windows Classic
Hosting packages by offering Windows
Server 2008 and more features for
developers. With this new
implementation, PHP and Perl
(previously only available on Linux
packages) as well as ASP.NET 3.5,
.NET Ajax, and Linq are made
available for new Windows hosting
customers.
All packages include a .htaccess
generator which allow all users to
create a .htaccess archive easily.
Such archives are generally used to
determine the PHP version selected
by the user, activate and deactivate
the browser directory, and
personalize error pages (like 403
and 404). Additionally developers
have now the possibility to easily
manage different versions of their
projects, as 1&1 now offers the
version management system “git.”
This upgrade to the Windows Server
2008 is at no additional cost for
new customers. In addition, 1&1
Linux classic hosting also supports
Zend Framework and PHP6 beta.
